Negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, or USA and Russia
Certainly not EU and Russia
These days we are wooed with shocking news, “at any moment war can start”.
The cost of war has changed. Countries around the world continue to keep their citizens informed that we must never forget to defend our borders, this is why the military budget is what it is. It is the “right” thing to do. Pay your taxes.
Fighting a war is the very last step as words no longer can deliver any plausible forward-thinking outcome. Yet, war is different now. The cost is different. Take for example the threats against Russia currently. They are told that they could be cut off from the Swift Payment System. That would disrupt a lot of commerce going in and out of Russia, affecting many countries around the world. They are told the wrong actions could cause I-phones to stop working across the country.
In the last few years, Germany made an agreement to purchase gas from Russia. Well in fact they were already buying from Russia, but they found a way to lower the cost. If they re-route the pipeline and put it below the sea, there would be a large savings. Imagine saving like three billion dollars every year on the gas bill. One would think the people who came up with this idea would have collected a bonus. The pipeline runs through Ukraine, and the cost of the transit is about three billion per year. Now the Nord Stream Two has been ready for a few months now, and it has been experiencing a delay in getting the green light, all due to politics.
A clear danger is that if war breaks out, unrest will hit Russia hard, and in today’s ways of things happening, with the proper financial backing, you could see a coup in Russia, even the USA getting the person they want in the driver’s seat. There is a lot on the table these days, at times Russia has been accused of interference with Election in other countries.
Crimea has been brought up again. Russia took over Crimea in 2015, the information I have said that a fair election was held, and 97 percent of the voters choose to go with the Russian flag and not continue with the Ukraine flag. Now there can be a lot of debate over this as Ukraine took Crimea some 95 years ago.
Nukes seem not to be spoken of these days. This is good. But these other tactics will cause any counties leaders to stop and think.
