Puppy love, pass the buck.
So Ukrainian Airlines say that took a risk to help out puppy farms in Ukraine. With delivering the backdated orders due to the COVID 19. Three hundred kennels and five hundred dogs were loaded onto an airplane. The people who loaded them on the plane new they were doing the wrong thing. The animals were put on the lowest deck in the plane, and it was to cool during the flight and too hot when landed from what I read. But the kennels were just too tight. Imagine the virus hit, and all puppy shipments stopped; every day, those puppies grew bigger and bigger. Three months later and the opportunity to get the pups to the waiting and none waiting owners came. Someone said yes, they are bigger, make them fit. We need to just get this done. And that is just what the ground crew did; they got it done. Someone from about 30 meters back showed a video online of a number of all sorts of sizes and shaped kennels being unloaded from private autos to the dock where baggage crews would take the kennels. It looked rough; that is all done on a shoestring budget.

So the plane lands in Toronto Canada, the doors are opened, and to the baggage handlers in Toronto are surprised they put the dogs in the rear lower compartment. When the doors of that hold is opened, the smell is unpleasant. It is now too hot for the anaimals and they begin removing one kennel at a time. The animals are dehydrated, and in at least two hundred of the kennels, there are two dogs, not one. With the end count of 38 dead and many others malnourished and put into these horrible conditions, the Canada health and safety side of the government will conduct a thorough investigation. Now, in Canada, the standard penalties for abuse of animals is quite high. People can not simply treat animals as rubbish.
It will be interesting how and if Canada will try to reach their arm all the way back to Ukraine to prosecute and punish the people who ordered such culty to animals.
In Canada, it is big business to buy such special bread of cats and dogs from places like Ukraine. The Ukraine price is often 4-6 times less than the rates in Canada for a special bread animal. So sad the animal mills need to take such hard cost-cutting efforts to reduce the cost of the animal.
