Ukraine, economic despair

April 14, 2020 the Virus rages on in the world. Few places are using common sense. That is Belarus, Sweden and South Korea. They say go on with your daily activities, wear a mask, wash your hands, protect yourself. If you have health issues be very diligent. Perhaps you should stay home and be safe.
With all this said, I have seen far too many people walking the streets of Odessa Ukraine with few masks. Too many walking nonchalantly with what seems to be with out purpose. Me… I have my head down and I am very purposed driven, going to the closest food store, not my favorite store but the closest one to get milk, bread and a few other needs.
At what cost do we spend to save the 1% that will die with the virus. I know the virus is a killer I have sad feelings for all those families that suffer through this experience of loosing someone in this way. At this time the food stores have all I need, in what seems to be no lack on the shelves. But today –
Today, as this time of year growers who have lands that produce the food that fills the stores shelves are told they can not meet to sell the good to the stores as they have forever. They asked these people to consider the virus, most have no masks. Most have not washed their hands as in the farmer markets they lack a lot of general services. So the government did what was right and shut them down. There, you can not sell your produce. Done.
Well, is that the right approach? What if we gave away N95 masks or KN95 masks and told those who entered to wear it or get a huge fine and get removed from the property. Right, they don’t have masks… But, there are a lot of other masks, homemade masks, and other offerings to be had, one would think this would help. No.
So, in two months what will the cost of produce be? Will the stores still maintain the variety of goods they currently have?
In Belarus, Sweden and South Korea, they promise to not let the people go hungry, and they promise to maintain the most of the economy as possible. They understand a number of people will catch this virus and die. But not all will die.
